All children succeed academically and graduate high school
Every year hundreds of Milwaukee youth fail to graduate from high school. In 2015, only 60% of Milwaukee students graduated high school in the traditional four years. While some eventually complete high school in five or six years, too many drop out of our education system entirely—a devastating decision for the student, their family, and our community.
In order to move the needle on this issue, we focus on two critical milestones that impact high school graduation: third grade reading proficiency and eighth grade math proficiency. Hitting both these milestones significantly increases a student's chances of remaining on-track to graduate high school in four years.
